    Since you only need one, it is typically cheaper to use an alginate mold. It is typically available in most craft stores. Be certain to carefully slice the original out. it would also be good to refinish or seal the original so that mold material doesn't stick as badly, even with mold release. @PunishedPropsAcademy is typically a very good resource.

    You can do it even with bathroom silicone as a one time use. Wrap it in kitchen strech wrap, and then just do it in few layers. It will not be moulding silicone quality, but my guess is that you will sand epoxy it a bit after pouring.

    I totally agree! Its going to be a situation where prep is the key, along with the proper cool-down.( especially if it is indeed cast.) i would also at least stop-drill the crack at the current terminus .

    i would grind a lines over those craks lines and then braze it ( griding a craks open gives it a bigger surfise area to stick braze on what ever material its is, and you can also make a cap so big at you can braze it fully like a dip a part in chocolate then crape extras out of surfice,or just drill a holes what runs same idea you get a braze fully in both side in one piece.

    You might ask @handtoolrescue But other people have mentioned brazing or welding. If it's cast welding might be harder than brazing.

    Brazing would be best option. If you're afraid of putting any heat to it then a steel reinforced epoxy could work too, you'd just have to thin it out with some solvent first. Wouldn't necessarily be as strong as brazing but cold weld epoxies are pretty tough.

  • @DavidKirtley
    @DavidKirtley 13 дней назад

    It really won't get a lot of stress in use. You could probably get away with just squirting some CA glue in there and clamping it and getting on with your life. Brazing or sliver solder would do a good job that would last if that didn't hold up.

    Looks like it’s cast . If so grind a v out along the crack so the braze has a bit more surface area to stick to , then heat it , tig it with silicon bronze and cool it very slowly in an oven reducing the heat over a period of time . I’m sure there are other ways but that’s what I’d do . Good luck …
